Kelsey Higley is a photographer and video artist and she focuses her work on issues of feminism, gender equality, and body image. Higley addresses the issues of body image and self consciousness in her work 'Body Image'. She photographed her models in a straight on portrait; then took pictures of what each model told her were their least favorite and favorite features, placing these two additional images on either side of the portrait. It's impossible to tell which image is the feature the model likes or dislikes. Higley's point, which is so important, is that the one physical feature you obsess over might be something other people never even notice. And even crazier is the fact that people might not be able to tell your least favorite feature from your favourite feature. We often fail to acknowledge that beauty is subjective. The only objective fact about beauty is that no one thinks he or she is perfect. Let's start looking at our insecurities the way Higley showed that other people already do. That thing we hate could be our most beautiful feature.

I think Higleys work is fascinating because of the fact that she doesn't tell us which is their best and worst feature. This just shows how others won't even acknowledge our own insecurities which is such an important message that Higley is demonstarting as body image is one of the main issues in society today. I have researched Higley because of my dream 'insecuirty' and I will create a response to this by photographing my friends profile and what they believe their best and worst features to be.
