Photos represent coming of age and trying out new things
The legs photo represents - repeated pattern, black and white, sisterhood, women hood
The non promiscuous photos represents - girls together, what girls do, whereas, the hands on bum image is different and doesn't fit the theme of innocence
Photos represents 2 themes - promiscuity and sisterhood - pick one theme or use the two themes to contrast each other
Fire photos represents - violence and abuse, whereas the hand fire photo looks gentle
The blindfold photos - a game girls may play - representing sisterhood
The photos of the scratching bums and bras don't feel like girlhood but violent
Again think about the two themes as the bottom left photos is a mixture of both theme
Visually the fire photos are the most interesting and intriguing
Do another shoot - think about story line - beginning and end - e.g. start with the 3 legs and then progress to fire images
The hands shown with a face is seen as less aggressive than the hands coming into the frame without seeing the face- think about this when shooting for girlhood

Look at Gabriella Mendez and Maisie Cousins - focus on props?

This crit was extremely useful as I had no idea that some of the photos in my last shoot didn't represent promiscuity. I think I was too focused on the aesthetic rather than the theme and so next time I will really consider how I am making my models act. I will create a shoot based on sisterhood and buy props for it and also experiment more with fire. I will also research into this further to make my images clearer and stronger. I will also try and compare the images from my previous shoots to my next shoot so that I can start to think about contrasting themes and how I am going to lay out my images for my final piece. I also did not think about how hands coming into the picture without a face would make it seem aggressive so next time I will take this into consideration. I will research the photographers Gabriela Mendez and Maisie Cousins and create a response to their work.
